后面的这个从句是修饰understanding的吧。做实验，观察自然，数学计算机建模，这么费事儿就是为了能understanding啊。

我直观上觉得要是只修饰basic law的话，在supported前面会加上which is

我以为语法永远是有逻辑缺陷的，关键时候还是要依赖句意。
