      http://edition.cnn.com/2010/US/09/07/florida.quran.burning/#fbid=9-wyiQ2uDRZ&wom=false

(CNN) -- The pastor of a Florida church planning to burn Qurans told CNN Tuesday while the congregation plans to go through with the action to protest the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States by al Qaeda, the church is "weighing" its intentions.

"We have firmly made up our mind, but at the same time, we are definitelypraying about it," said Jones said.

"We are definitely weighing the situation. We are weighing the thing that we're about to do. What it possibly could cause. What is our actual message. What are we trying to get across."

      http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/01/nyregion/01mosque.html?scp=2&sq=ground%20zero%20mosque&st=cse

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-3X5hIFXYU

      1963年8月28日,Martin Luther King在林肯纪念堂发表了著名的《I have a dream》演讲。

America Is Better Than Thi

America is better than Glenn Beck. For all of his celebrity, Mr. Beck is an ignorant, divisive, pathetic figure. On the anniversary of the great 1963 March on Washington he will stand in the shadows of giants — Abraham Lincoln and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Who do you think is more representative of this nation?

This is the historical legacy that Glenn Beck, a small man with a mean message, has chosen to tread upon with his cynical rally on Saturday at that very same Lincoln Memorial.

(Small man with a mean message)。

Beck is a provocateur who likes to play with matches in the tinderbox of racial and ethnic confrontation. He seems oblivious to the real danger of his execrable behavior. He famously described President Obama as a man “who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.”

      Beck

        看了Bob Herbert的文章的comments(按照reader's rating排序),里面多是普世派。

          NYT, Washington Post, MSNBC,

How Arabs view the anti-mosque movement

Meanwhile, several recent articles claim that the mosque had become the #1 topic of discussion on jihadist forums.

Jamil al-Nimri, a Jordanian liberal writing for al-Ghad, who writes that the backlash against the mosque has unleashed a wave of bigotry and hate, at the expense of the intended message of an enlightened and tolerant Islam.

Mohammed al-Hammadi, an Emirati writer for al-Ittihad, who describes the mosque as a moment for America to choose whether it truly believes in freedom.

Abd al-Haq Azouzi, a Moroccan writing for al-Ittihad, who reverses the familiar question to ask "why do they hate us?," and warns that those cynically manufacturing the issue for political benefit are unleashing an uncontrollable wave of hatred.

Abdullah al-Shayji, a Kuwaiti writing for al-Ittihad, who sees the mosque battle as a fundamental test of the place of Muslims in America and fears rising Islamophobia.

Ragheda Dergham, writing in al-Hayat, warns that the campaign against the mosque threatens Islamic moderation.

Manar al-Shourbji, in Egypt's al-Masry al-Youm, reflects that the campaign against the mosque demonstrates that the good intentions of the mosque's founders were not enough in the face of rising anti-Islam extremism in America.
