发动机电控是丰田的核心，非日系供货商根本无缘参与。其它电子控制系统，则有点机会。软件是发动机电控的核心,这里涉及核心的发动机/变速箱控制技术.

丰田是2003年加入AUTOSAR，GM 是2004年底加入AUTOSAR。所以不能说AUTOSAR 是欧美联盟体系。

Initial discussions on the common challenge and objectives were held by BMW, Bosch, Continental, DaimlerChrysler and Volkswagen in August, 2002 and the partners were joined soon afterwards by Siemens VDO.
