FORD will begin seeking buyers for its Volvo luxury brand in February and expects to draw bids from Chinese car-makers, Bloomberg reports this week. An unnamed source said sales documents would be sent to prospective buyers in the next couple of weeks. Ford bought Volvo for $US6.4 billion in 1999 but the Swedish outfit is now the last of its European brands after the sale of Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover last year. Chinese bidders could include SAIC, Chery and Guangzhou Automobile Group.
