the reason they don't put A/C on most MBTs. M-1s have no A/C on it. The NBC system onboard "base on what menu says" can provide cooled clean air, and M1a1,
M-1SEP( or ESP,or whatever...) have a set of cooling system installed to prevent all those fansy computers stopworking under hot weather. "..and crew can benefit from it" if u asked sepcs,techs or army recruiters, they probably say so, but if u asked a thanker (or ex tanker), most likely it is :"Nooooo way dude, only A/c u can get is hatch open"
So all in all dont expect there is a small vent inside M-1s that u can chill out in front of it.
BTW All US AVs have no AC either.
US Army do bought lots of cooling vests for MBTand AV crew members, but "it's heavy, uncomfotable, and very limited cooling effect, didn't use it" an ex tanker said.
