小说就是以他的第一人称写的。

这部小说里很多语言确实精彩，最后一句也是.

男一号与父亲关系一直不好，老婆住院，父亲都不知道，最后知道了，赶来医院，儿媳妇刚刚去世，父亲很内疚，下面是小说的最后一句:

And I did what I had never done in his presence, much less in his arms, i cries.

书中很多妙语都是女一号说的，比如开始的一场：

"You look stupid and rich." she said, removing her glasses.

"You're wrong." I protested," I'm actually smart and poor."

"Oh, no, Preppie, I'm smart and poor."

"What the hell makes you so smart?" I asked

"I wouldn't go for coffee with you," she answered

"Listen--I wouldn't ask you."

"That," she replied." is what makes you stupid."

还有，当两人第一次接吻后，

"I don't like it," she said.

"What?"

"The fact that i like it."

每次吵嘴，都是男的落下风。

顺便问一下，河里有没有懂拉丁文的，该书的献词里有一句拉丁文：

....namque...solebatis

Meas esse aliquid putare nugas.

不知何意，网上查不到，拉丁字典里有些字找不到。希望河里有人能解释一下。
