在过去的五天里，上千的个人已经联系了PBS电视台，敦促他们于今年十二月，南京大屠杀七十周年纪念之时，播放受到广泛赞誉的记录电影，《南京梦魇》。这些信件也已经被送往纽约时报和洛杉矶时报。

PBS（KQED）此前拒绝播放这部影片，宣称这个主题太“有争议性”，他们不想激怒亚裔团体，也就是日本人。

PBS电视台最近播放了一个关于二战的十三小时的系列节目，在其中强调了日本人遭受的苦难和日本士兵的勇敢，却丝毫没有提到中国人民。最初，他们也拒绝提及墨西哥裔美国人的贡献。当墨西哥裔美国人的团体和组织提出抗议的时候，PBS编了一些理由并拒绝做任何的改变。只是当墨西哥裔美国人的团体继续要求包括他们的时候，PBS才做出同意。

现在中国人民也能让他们的声音被听到!

约瑟夫博士已经向PBS电视台，美国最大的广播公司之一，免费提供这部影片。约瑟夫博士将不会从中牟利赚钱。

我们敦促每个个人，每个团体，每个组织支持要求PBS电视台播放《南京梦魇》。请做出你自己的，独立和独一无二的贡献！

如果你已经发出了电子邮件，请再发一封。并请联系每个愿意在其中起到作用的团体。

即使PBS电视台拒绝了这一要求，华裔美国人仍然能够让他们的声音被听到，随后美国媒体就会注意此事并广泛宣扬。这将使南京大屠杀的悲剧得到更多的关注。

--Letter to PBS

We Encourage All Groups, Organizations, Individuals--Make Your Voice Heard

In the last 5 days, thousands of individuals have contacted PBS TV,urging they show the highly acclaimed documentary film, The Rape ofNanking" this December, the 70th anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre. These letters have also been sent to the New York Times and Los Angeles Times.

PBS (KQED) previously refused to show this film, claiming the subjectwas too "controversial" and they did not want to offend the Asiancommunity, i.e. the Japanese.

PBS TV recently showed a 13 hour series on WWII and emphasizedJapanese suffering and the bravery of Japanese soldiers, but made nomention of the Chinese. Initially, they refused to make any mention ofthe contribution of Mexican-Americans. When Mexican-American　organizations　protested, PBS made up excuses and refused to make any changes. It was only when Mexican-American groups continued to demand inclusion that PBS agreed.

The Chinese people can now make their voice heard.

Dr. Joseph has offered the film, free to PBS TV, which is one of thelargest TV broadcast companies in the US. Dr. Joseph will not make any money and will not profit from these efforts。

We urge every individual, every group, every organization to supportthe demand that PBS TV show the Rape of Nanking. Make this your own unique and independent achievement.

If you have already sent an email, send another. Contract every group who might wish to play a role in this effort.

Even if PBS TV refuses, Chinese-Americans can make their voice heard,and then the US media will pay attention and will publicize and bring great attention to the tragedy of the Rape of Nanking.

We urge everyone to make it their cause to force PBS TV to acknowledgethe contributions and the suffering of the Chinese people andChinese-Americans.

Please, contact PBS, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Chinese groups and organizations, and make your voice heard.
