主题:不知道大家知道这个不,Philipp Plein的辱华T恤事件 -- 夜月空山
Several things:
1. Pirate is usually referred to the infringement on intellectual products, not commodity-like products in the consumer market.
2. Grave concern? Is it a type-o for ‘great concern’?
3. “Until then, please be advised that I will no longer purchase your product. Additionally, I will inform my friends of this issue, and I will encourage them to spread the news and take the same course of action.”
It looks like this apparel retailer is a niche player (rather than a mainstream player) and the customer base is very limited. I don’t think a lot of us have ever purchased their products. Therefore telling them that we will no longer purchase your product is not a legitimate threat in the first place. (‘no longer’ seems a bit odd, as most of us have never purchased before)
Secondly, the fact that they’re a niche player makes this threat less effective, or, less threatening, so to speak
A threat can only work well when it is legitimate (you can really do it!) and effective (it can really hurt!).
I think the legitimate and effective threat to this retailer is to emphasize that we’re gonna bring in the media and authoritative or regulatory institutions.
