Show are not normally in series. I don't think you will find much about last weeks show each week. There is a reason they are called "Mystery", a lot of them don't have real endings (I think).
Other then soap opera, all US prime time shows are one new show per week. Toward the end of "Friends", each cast member earned about $1,000,000 per episode (or is it 750,000?). A show like "24", can last the network a whole year! That's less then one show per every two weeks.
