CSSAUTH is a part of the ThinkVantage Technologies Client Security Solution originally designed by IBM but now, of course, a feature of selected ThinkPad and ThinkCentre systems under the Lenovo brand name (Since Lenovo purchased IBM's PC Division in March 2005).

Have found problem (as far as it exists on my system!). Its the Firewall software that is obfuscating your attempts to run the ThinkVantage Security Solutions. You need to add the relevant programs from the Client Security Solution folder (under IBM ThinkVantage folder) to your firewall and tell it to PERMIT or ALLOW them for the profile(s) you are using. How you do that will depend upon which Firewall you are using. Hope this helps!
