Oil and other commodities are in a secular bull market. Same as the industrial metals, this is a classic example of surging demand meet inelastic supply. There have been no major discovery for 30 years. Most of the current big oil field have peaked or near its peak production. Just two weeks ago, Mexico's largested Oil field confirmed that it reached its peak capacity.Also the reserves of OPEC countries have been vastly exaggerated for political reasons.It's not oil is running out, just that we are running out of cheap oil.People fail to realize that once a trend has been setup, it could go a lot higher than even the most optimist could ever imagine. This being said, nothing goes straight up. We are already in the second phase of the commodity bull market. So you should expect volatility and corrections.
