1. turn off firewall for both machine.
2. choose obtain IP address automatically
3. choose obtain DNS server address automatically
4. run command ipconfig/all figure out the IP address for both machine and your gateway address
5. try ping each other
6. check router configuration
usally in IE type your gateway IP address like:
http://192.168.1.1/ set up the router.
