毛泽东出生于中华民族命运最为黑暗沉重之岁月。

Mao was born in the darkest days for the Chinese nation.

他发宏愿，立雄心，养浩气，救万民。立足湘江，胸纳寰宇，北游红楼，南结黄埔，东谋建党盛举，西挽灭顶危局。

He had an aspiration, a vision, from which ideas were formed on what to do to save the people from suffering. Starting from his home province Hunan and casting his eyes around the whole wide world, this young man first traveled north to learn at Beijing University, then joined the revolutionary forces in Guangzhou in the south. In between he was at the founding of the Communist Party of China in the eastern city of Shanghai and later played a pivotal role in the western base of Yanan in bringing his forces back from the brink of annihilation.

遇千难而不挫，经百战而愈奋。终成一代民族舵手，驱倭寇，扫民贼，新中国乃巍巍然崛起东方。

He met a thousand setbacks but never yielded, becoming ever more determined through battle after battle, ultimately leading the nation to drive out the Japanese invaders and bring down the despots ruling the country. Thus a new and strong China was born.

毛氏毕生，与庶民同呼吸，谋国家千秋业，戒骄戒腐，反帝反霸。

During his entire life Mao stayed close to common folks and strove for the lasting welfare of the People’s Republic. To do that he curtailed those who were arrogant and punished those who were corrupt. With imcomparable courage, he fought against imperialists and opposed international bullies.

一穷二白之赤县，转为粮油滚滚，钢花烁烁，书声琅琅，欢歌阵阵之强邦。

Under Mao’s guidance, China turned itself around, from being a country of destitution and scarcity to one of strength and abundance, supported by advanced agriculture and industry, universal education and ample optimism.

更有两弹一星，护民万福，哲思雄文，厚馈子孙。

Under his guidance, China developed its own nuclear weapons and space technology, so that the good life is well protected. And his ideas and theories have laid the philosophical and ideological foundation that will benefit his people for generations to come.

华夏神州之命运，已跃出低谷，冉冉行天矣。

Thanks to Mao, China has left its misery behind and its ascending trajectory can no longer be blocked.
