such an obvious setup, of course if he is ousted from the Communist party of China his wive has got to be a criminal! Nothing ever changes over there, does it?

I expect the Foreign Office to appeal to the Chinese to waive the death penalty.

So not only leopards can't change their spots. Communist governments are at it again - purge, destroy, erase and forget they ever existed... And this is the country that will take over the world in the next twenty years? God help us all!!

wow! u gotta love the chinese. when they destroy you politically, they destroy ur whole life, that of your family and anyone else connected to you for that matter. don't do conspiracy theories but you can't help wonder why the rule of law suddenly applies to this man who is by all accounts as politically and socially elite as they come. the rule of law does not normally apply even to their children. this is playing politics on a grand scale

I watched an interesting documentary last night about Josef Stalin on one of the BBC channels. One of his tactics was to have the wives of party members arrested on trumped up charges. Some were even executed. It kept potential rivals in their place!

How lucky that it was the arch enemy of the state's wife that did it her husband can now confess to his crimes without any pressure whatsoever.

Being as popular as he is, Bo Xi Lai, was a logical target for this sort of 'revenge' by the appartchiks! How else could they de-rail his further rise? Something stinks in the state of China.Had he been 'allowed' to dig deeper, it is almost certain he would have outed as corrupt a lot of the present regime. Firstly they attacked his son's life-style. Failed there, because his wife is a very successful lawyer, and they CAN afford it. So now they attack her!!! A good man targetted by those with most to hide.
