2G is the theoretical limit. If you have only limited tables, and some simple queries, I am pretty sure it does the job quite well.
However, in practice, it is rarely the case, if you have a few hundred MB data. Usually, the database structure is more complicated, and often, the queries can be quite challenging.
The other issue is the multi-user application. Access rarely does a good job for this.
It happened to one of my client. Their mdb was only around 50MB, and there were 5 users. One critical query's performance was very poor, and were forced to upgrade to SQL Server.
