Genesis 3:16

and he will rule over you.”

Corinthians 11:3

But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

Corinthians 14:34-35

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

男女平等是和经济的发展后对女性劳力的需求以及女性的独立和解放密切相连的，西方发达国家近代在这方面比中国有优势是事实。不过中国在解放后这方面的进步，我觉得在很多方面基础比西方发达国家还要深远。没有宗教的包袱不能说不是一个因素。

牵涉地域更是没有意义，政治经济一定有地域的因素，能说明什么呢？

“美国乡里人，尤其是南方红脖子，大多大男子主义，对自己的妻子不够理解和尊重。”这么翻过来说，有错么，有意义么？
