Sean Hoare (died c. 18 July 2011) was a British journalist. A former News of the World reporter. He contributed to articles on showbiz, from actors to reality television stars.[1]

He was involved in and exposed the News International phone hacking scandal in which he claimed in a New York Times article that Andy Coulson "encouraged" him to hack phones. He was once a close friend of Coulson and had been an employee of The Sun before being sacked for drinking problems.[2] In the 1980s, he was a journalist for the Watford Observer.[3] He was found dead at his home in Watford, Hertfordshire, on 18 July 2011.[2]At the time of his death, Hoare was working on a biography of the former WCW mid-carder Tom Zenk, provisionally entitled "Nobody Got The Z-Man's Back".
