G.H.W.Bush(the senior) was from New England WASP family and had great trouble fitting into the cowboy Texas culture. His son mixed well with those Texas rednecks and started political career there.

Common sense in America: you can have an Irish Catholic president, but the key position, such as CIA Director, must be in the hand of protestant WASP elites. You can check Bush senior's history and saw who was the former CIA director in 1970s...

To be frank, even today, Kennedy family is still marginalized with influence only in New England.

There are many cultural/history stuff that you can only rumors and then speculate. I was very disappointed by this misleading post.
