if people can not easily get RMB through capital lending or equity financing, how can they use RMB as their central bank's assets?
Keep in mind, RMB is only convertible under current account.
There are 4 major reserve assets on the central banks' B/S in the past--gold, silver, sterling and US dollar.
国际化 is not blah blah talk. It requires concrete steps to free the capital account=free movement of capital---that will start China's nightmare given its vulernable social structure and messy financial system.
