BTW, not all Western Europeans are the same. In terms of psychological distance between generations, Britons are far than some Latin Europeans. Latin people are very similar to Chinese, esp., Italians.

In sum, it is not ALL WHITE people are different from Chinese.

Good 教育程度还有收入--those are middle-class families--the pillar of one society. They usually epitomize that nation's traditional values.

--when I was in Europe, I interviewed classmates from different nations. Before the pension/medicare system was established in those European/American nations, they are actually quite similar to Chinese. BTW, for people from backward eastern european nations, they are very close to Chinese in terms of family ties.

--the public pension system weakens the economic links between generations, thus we saw the huge cultural change in their society.

--If China switches to a national public pension system, the same phenomenon will happen to China too.

BTW, the Canadian Caucasians are very diverse. Alberta is populated mainly by Ukraineans. Manitoban have many Nordic people. Atlantic provinces are populated by Catholic Scotsmen and Lutheran Germans.

Then Quebec is mainly French while Ontario is pretty much every thing mixed together...

Canada is a very interesting country.
