Best timing! As I know there will be huge budget cut in academia all over the country from next year; even Harvard Medical School will get 10% cut. All of hiring freezes in my University, and some colleges are talking about pay cut for even tenured professors. Research oriented institutes may be OK as we are mostly on our own grants. Anyway, congrats and this is perfect to accomplish 2008.
