Compaq, bought in 2002, gave it to my mother in 2008, still good to use, only slow. also, I dropped it on the concrete at least once. never had services.

2nd:

HP, bought in 2007 DEC, only crap is vista. I installed the XP (true version), and linux, hard to find driver, but still got it work. MS sux, push the HP not provide driver online. linux part, after 8.10 ubuntu, it works properly.

good quality. and not $$$$$
