那本科普读物，应该是80年代早期中期时候的作品了，（甚至可能更早）。我仔细的翻了一下，Sara Stinson（Departmenotf AnthropologyQ, ueenCs ollege, City Universityo f NewY ork,F lushing,New York）在1992年的一篇发表在Annu. Rev. Anthropol. （1992. 21:143-70）上的一篇关于营养适应的综述中说，

“尽管最近的研究表明，对于能量和蛋白质的需求，各个种群间并没有什么不同，滑铁卢反驳说有若干的研究表明那些习惯于低蛋白质摄入的人的需求有可能也比较低。他这里所引用的是欧门的发现，认为在新几内亚的哈根山区的人的大肠里面可能存在固氮细菌。固氮细菌广泛的存在于人类的肠道中，但是对于这些细菌是否给宿主贡献蛋白质还一直有怀疑。”

你说得对，我的那个更多是推论，而不是已经发表的结果。察看一下引用第一篇文献的文章总数，不过21。而且好多是综述和图书。我认为这是因为白蚁肠道内的固氮微生物好像是更吸引人一点，因为70年代已经不是生产力低下，需要采取这种原始手段来增加贫穷地区的蛋白质摄入的时候了。螺旋藻就是在那个时期被研制并投入生产的。
