Oracle chief says 'I do'

Despite once saying that three divorces meant he ``wasn't any good at marriage,'' Oracle Chief Executive Officer Larry Ellison recently wed for the fourth time, marrying long-time fiancee and romance novelist Melanie Craft.

A spokesman for the Redwood Shores software company confirmed the marriage, but declined to provide any additional details.

``There's a criminal law in California called three strikes and you're out,'' Ellison, 59, said in a biography called ``Softwar'' released last year. ``Maybe after three marriages, you shouldn't be allowed a fourth.''

Beth de Guzman, Craft's editor at Warner Books, told CBS MarketWatch that Ellison and Craft got married before Christmas last year.

``She's been on honeymoon, and she just got back; I haven't been able to speak with her,'' de Guzman said.

Craft, 35, has been dating Ellison for almost 8 years. She is the author of two novels, ``A Hard-Hearted Man'' and ``Trust Me.'

According to Craft's Web site, the author's third novel is called, ``Man Trouble,'' and will be out in May. The book tells the story of Sandra, a romance author, who wants to reform Jake, a bad-boy billionaire whose flamboyant lifestyle is hurting his company's business.

Oracle confirmed Ellison's latest marriage on Tuesday, a day after announcing that Ellison will share more power with other executives. Ellison gave up Oracle's chairmanship and the company promoted three other senior executives. Ellison remains Oracle CEO, while Jeff Henley, chief financial officer, became chairman. Executive vice presidents Safra Catz and Charles Phillips were elevated to share the presidency.
