For personal general usage, SONY VAIO looks very sleek (though runs just so so) and built-in memory-stick slot is really convenient if you already had SONY digital camera or plan to buy one.
DELL has some pretty good deals sometime. But the consume level product is not so good.
IBM has good reputation. But it’s over priced a bit.
