1979年在印度洋有一次没有人认领的核试验，应该是南非和以色列联合干的。南非曾经承认这个实验和南非有关，随后又否认。
第四次中东战争是在1973年，按照公开的文件，这个时候南非和以色列已经开始了核研究方面的合作，但是双方核武器的合作计划是1974年签署的。1977年在南非曾经有两个地下核试验装置在使用前曝光，也应该是南非和以色列合作的。这两个装置曾经在1988年重新开启，但是也没有进行试验。
也就是说，可以肯定在1973年的时候，以色列没有核武器。

真打的可能性还是很大的，谁让人类是如此一种好忘而且喜欢投机的动物呢
10月7号叙利亚军队攻到戈兰高地边缘，以色列已经没有可以马上填进去抵挡的部队。（以色列可能被拦腰斩断，在戈兰高地叙军可以居高临下用远程火炮控制以色列加利利谷地以及北方水源地，冲下来的话，以色列没有有利地型来防御，地图http://www.eyeonisrael.com/）当时以色列的参谋长达扬觉得局势危急，告诉梅厄要完了，咱们拼了吧。梅厄内阁在10月8号作出决定，以色列装了13枚2万吨级的原子蛋。有同归于尽的意思。结果是大家都知道，美国人哪里忍得住，立马干涉。阿拉伯人赌美国不敢在中东和苏联干，因为当时欧洲才是对社会主义斗争的第一线。没想到苏联倒先软了。
门槛高了就会很大程度上抑制战争。因为侵略没有核武器的国家是很可能在经济上获利的。而侵略核国家获利的可能性很小。杀头的买卖有人做，赔本的生意没人干。当然愿意投机的人总是存在的，但是为什么不去更可能获利的非核国家投机呢？
