家园 小政府本身就是保守主义的主张之一吧 正统自由主义绝不可能容忍政府的无限扩张，而这却恰恰是美国民主党的主张。所以，我以为美国民主党那种对政府的态度，应该是自由主义当中的变种吧。
家园 民主党这是靠近社会民主主义，也是自由主义的一种 自由主义和保守主义一样，都有很多变种。
家园 德州的Ron Paul 很多坚信小政府、低税收、个人发展、个人责任即不同于共和党的保守主义，更不同于民主党的福利主义，坚决反对的是社会主义（实际上是北欧版的社会民主主义，不是中国定义的社会主义）。他们要求终止用纳税人的钱救援衰竭的汽车工业、贪婪的金融业和不负责任的寅吃卯粮者，他们要求终止扩大政府在社会经济中的作用这完全就是共和党众议员Ron Paul的政治主张嘛。他还主张个人所得税非法，应该废除。美国内战是个错误，应该给奴隶主们付钱给奴隶赎身而不是打仗。美国受基地攻击是因为自己的对外政策太有攻击性，到处插手太多，应该把军事基地里的人都撤回来。
这家伙08年作为共和党总统候选人初选的时候，网上的得票率总是最高的，他的支持者也都非常的aggressive。可是现实得票率惨的惊人，辩论的时候他在一帮共和党候选人里面显得极其另类，被Fox新闻台和其他共和党参选人当笑话看。
我个人是他的FAN，当时是我唯一喜欢的一个总统候选人。可惜啊，美国人网上的意见也没用。

Yes, it is an easy talk for Americans, but it spells trouble for the EuroAsia land mass. POWER VACCUUM MUST BE FILLED IN BY ANOTHER COMPETENT GLOBAL POWER, OTHERWISE, CONFLICTS WILL BE INEVITABLE. that's lesson from the history.

His major problem: naive comments on america's global control. This control is extremely profitable for US firms/Americans, but it is also essential for all other coutries. LOSING THIS CONTROL ALSO SPELLS THE END OF USD AS THE GLOBAL RESERVE CURRENCY, THUS BRING TURMOIL TO THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL SYSTEM. Europeans/Chinese only want to enjoy peace dividend, but are unwilling to understake the costs.
After losing USD's reserve status, America will fall into a downward spiral due to the backflow of USD and America will a 2nd-rate island nation. And the world will have no peace.
Islam fundamentalists will sure blow off some European nations in the next 20-30 years. Maybe China before that given insensitivity at the top.
America always wants to withdraw back to its easy seclusive peace, but unfortunately, without America, the global peace will see its end very soon.
WORLD IS MOST DANGEROUS WHEN YOU HAVE SEVERAL EQUIVALENT PLAYERS ON THE GLOBAL STAGES at the same time. Lesson from WWI and WWII.
