Lewis Thomas is a big name to me in the biomedical books. He has written a lot of good books. However, we do not have fair translation in Chinese.I suggest you to read the english ones.

Sociobiology: The New Synthesis, Twenty-fifth Anniversary Edition by Edward Osborne Wilson

He is so famous. And he got the Pulitzer price for his book <On human nature>. I can say no more.

Toward a New Philosophy of Biology: Observations of an Evolutionist (Paperback)

by Ernst Mayr

He is one of my favorite. He is a zoologist in Harvard. Maybe a little traditional. But I like him and his books.

The Panda's Thumb: More Reflections in Natural History (Paperback)

by Stephen Jay Gould

Another big name here. I can say no more.

A History of Molecular Biology by Michel Morange

This book is pretty good one.

Science As a Way of Knowing: The Foundations of Modern Biology by John Alexander Moore

I haven't read this one. But it is still on my wish list.
