家园 日常密切接触传播乙肝

Let's put it this way, a good percentage of people in close contact with HBV carriers develop antibodies against this virus, apparently through healing from a HBV infection.

Do you see the same situation in other sexual transmitted disease? Apparently not. Do you find antibody against HIV surface proteins in the blood of those in close contact with the HIV patients? Apparently not. It is a well known fact that HBV is hundreds of times more infectious than HIV.

Are you sure everyone's immune system is always working at 100% to fight off the HBV infection from close contacts? If not, the unlucky person joins the 100 million chronic HBV carriers in China.

Therefore.... you know the conclusion. Close contacts transmit the HBV virus. Many articles in peer reviewed journals list it as a formal transmission route. It is not listed in China to avoid discrimination against HBV carriers.

Also, please do not paint a rosy picture for chromic HBV carriers. It's irresponsible. This is an incurable disease. A good percentage of them will develop cirrhosis, followed by liver cancer. The process takes decades, therefore babies infected with HBV has an even worse outcome. HBV pandemic can single-handedly explain the abnormally high incidence of liver cancer in East Asian countries!
