This kind of attitude is like virus these days. Kids of the 1990s or 2000s are spoiled "trophy" kids, full of themselves.
The only good way to change that is to let them suffer from a big frustration in reality--or switch one or two kids to the Asian culture where people usually blame themselves first in time of failure.
