Insurance provides two benefits: tax free return accumulation-tax free payout and stable return (guaranteed by insurance companies).
When people buy insurance products during high-inflation period--insurance buyers earn extra benefits at the expense of insurance firms losing money.
That happened in States in 1970s and in China (middle 1990s).
