In terms of slow inflation--it is possible on a global stage because America will pursue this strategy soon. America has all kinds of debts at different levels: federal/state/corporate/individual... inflation will be America's weapon.

Since USD is the global reserve currency, America's inflation will spread to all other nations through trade, currency exchange and central banks. Just deja vu of 1970s.

If China could not stand a period of mild inflation and implode, then that's China's pity: now is a test of the comprehensive stamina. Europe beats America on the financial regulation front, but lost out on fiscal battle due to its miserable welfare policy. If China loses, it loses due to its failure in social justice and income disparity.
